Iman Shumpert Seeks Jail Time for Teyana Taylor Over Alleged Custody Violations

Messy, messy, and more messiness. The divorce between Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor has taken another difficult turn, as Shumpert has formally requested that a judge hold Taylor in contempt of court. According to a report from AllHipHop, the former NBA player filed the motion on May 5 in Georgia, requesting that Taylor be sentenced to up to 20 days in jail for allegedly violating the terms of their legal agreement.

Documents obtained by In Touch Weekly claim that Taylor has publicly disclosed private aspects of their divorce and used inappropriate language directed at Shumpert in front of their children. “In the presence of the children, [Taylor] has shouted crude and inflammatory racial insults at [Shumpert],” the documents state. Shumpert alleges these actions have negatively impacted their children’s emotional well-being, causing them undue stress and confusion by making them feel caught in the middle of their parents’ disputes.

In addition, Shumpert accuses Taylor of trying to weaken his relationship with their children, which he believes violates their current custody agreement. These claims come after Taylor made her accusations earlier in the year. In March, she alleged that Shumpert engaged in similar harmful behavior but emphasized that she never sought to have him jailed. “I have to file a motion to get him to leave me alone so we can both go and live our life in peace,” she said.
