Bow Wow is standing by longtime friend and collaborator Chris Brown following the singer’s recent arrest in the United Kingdom. The two artists currently share the charts with their new single “Use Me,” but news of Brown’s detainment has cast a shadow over their musical momentum.
Brown was arrested over the weekend in connection to a 2023 nightclub altercation in which he allegedly struck a music producer over the head with a tequila bottle. The incident reportedly occurred in a London venue, and authorities apprehended the R&B star while he was overseas for his ongoing Breezy Bowl XX Tour.
Bow Wow took to Instagram to express his support and call for Brown’s release. “Yo it got way too crazy, my anxiety started kicking in. I had to take a break, go into the movies with my Auntie,” he said in a video message. “That’s how I really do it. I ain’t been to the movies in so long, so I’m really excited about this.”
Switching gears, he added, “On another note: Free Breezy, Free Breezy, Free Breezy. Y’all know we gonna get on it until it actually happens. It’s an unfortunate situation.”
Bow Wow explained that Brown had traveled to Manchester to begin rehearsals for the tour, only to be detained before hitting the stage. “They wouldn’t let my dog be great. One thing I do know, he’ll be out in no time. He’ll be back doing what he does best. That man ain’t bothered nobody. He’s been out the media, out the press for a minute. He just wants to tour, please his fans, and take care of his kids. Shout out to my boy, Brown.”
According to multiple reports, Chris Brown was denied bond and will remain in custody until June. It is currently unclear whether the arrest will impact the remaining dates of his Breezy Bowl XX Tour, which features special guests Summer Walker and Bryson Tiller. Brown added multiple international dates to the tour earlier this year, solidifying its global appeal.
For now, fans and friends alike continue to rally behind the singer as legal proceedings unfold overseas.
