Pusha T Breaks Silence on Ye: “He’s Showed Me the Weakest Sides of Him”

Not everybody will bite their tongue when it comes to opining on the biggest names in the game. Pusha T is finally speaking out about the unraveling of his longtime connection with Ye, revealing that their bond is now completely severed.

In a recent sit-down with, get this, GQ, the Virginia lyricist got candid about where things stand with his former friend and collaborator. Although he still gives Ye credit for his brilliance and instincts, he made it clear that his respect for him as a person has vanished. “That’s why me and him don’t click, because he knows what I really, really think of him. He’s showed me the weakest sides of him, and he knows how I think of weak people” Pusha said.

As you can imagine, the fallout didn’t happen overnight. Pusha pointed to the 2021 Donda recording sessions in Atlanta as the turning point. He said he sensed a shift in the vibe and began feeling like he was being sidelined in the creative space. “I realized at certain points that I was really alone in everything that was going on as far as rap drama, so on and so forth” he explained, hinting at growing tensions and distrust during that period.

Things really only got worse when Ye started making divisive and inflammatory public statements. His antisemitic comments became a breaking point for Pusha. By December 2022, he had officially parted ways with Ye’s G O O D Music label and stepped down from his role as president.

When dishing on Ye’s actions, Pusha did not hold back. “It’s been disappointing… As a Black man in America, there is no room for bigotry or hate speech” he stated.
