Everybody has an opinion these days, and we mean everybody. When it comes to Offset, the Atlanta hit maker is standing firmly behind Drake after T-Pain made some pointed remarks that seemed to take aim at the 6 God’s longevity in the game.
First off, we are now in a world where longevity is something to go at. We can’t help but to make the LeBron comparison. Some of these so called pundits who make there careers off of talking about King James seem to always go after his accolades with this, well, he’s been playing for 22 years, so that why he’s number one in scoring etc etc. News flash. Longevity is a talent too. Longevity is something to be revered. We digress.
Back to Hip Hop. The head scratching moment that prompted Offset’s comment unfolded during an episode of the Crash Dummies podcast, check out the clip below, where T-Pain spoke on being inspired by Drake’s mindset of stepping away from music with grace. But the singer also accused Drake of not living up to that very idea.
“One thing I learned from Drake, but one thing he hasn’t followed his own words,” T-Pain said. “Drake said, ‘I wanna be one of them people that gracefully bow out and not get kicked out.’”
T-Pain went on to mimic how he believes Drake continues to approach his career, saying, “I have ever since said, ‘Thank y’all, I appreciate y’all. I’ll see y’all when I drop — don’t worry about it, I’ll just drop something. Let me know if you heard it,’” before joking, “Drake is like, ‘No, listen. OK, I got another one. Hold on, check this out. Y’all ain’t like that one? OK, real quick, just one more. Let me try one more.’”
Weird take … Anyways, this prompted Drake to enter the chat.
Drake quickly caught wind of the interview once a clip surfaced on the Gram via the Toronto Rappers page. He jumped into the comments with a response that raised eyebrows and confirmed tension between the two artists.
“This guy always had resentment for me [laughing emoji],” Drake wrote. “You can hear it every time he speaks on my name.”
That part.
Then, Offset comments on a Complex post. “Da Boy is da boy s**t ain’t gone change,” Offset stated. “All dat hating on another grown man who do more numbers than everybody is Diabolical !!!!”

Diabolical is an interesting word but we get what you mean.
Fans are wondering why T-Pain thinks Drake should step aside at all. Drake’s people’s choice release Nokia is arguably the runaway anthem of the summer and the top selling single of the year. His surprise collab album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U with PARTYNEXTDOOR already went platinum in less than three months without major label backing. His upcoming European tour sold out in minutes and he remains the most streamed male artist in Spotify history. Add to that his record setting ten diamond singles, and it’s clear Drake is not slowing down.

Yeah, so, the real question is, why is T-Pain even suggesting Drake should exit when the numbers and momentum say otherwise? Let us know what you think.
