Steph Curry Clarifies Viral Clip Showing Annoyance With “Not Like Us”: “I got sick of it at a certain point”

Steph Curry is making sure you know what side of the line he’s standing on. The future NBA Hall of Famer is setting the record straight after a viral video showed him reacting to Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping track “Not Like Us “with noticeable fatigue.

First, the video in question …

In case you missed it, the moment, which quickly spread across social media, was captured during Team USA’s Olympic basketball run last summer. In the clip, Curry can be heard saying, “dammit with this song. It’s not the only song in America,” a comment that sparked plenty of conversation online.

Now, in a recent sit-down with Complex, the Golden State Warriors star offered some clarity on what went down.

When asked about his longstanding friendship with Drake, Curry confirmed their bond runs deep. “We go way back though and it’s actually kind of a family thing too. One of Ayesha’s cousins is from Toronto and the whole deal. So, we’re all in the same boat,” he shared, pointing to ties that extend beyond the music.

As for the viral moment itself, Curry admitted it was a mix of being overexposed to the track and his loyalty to Drake. “Oh, it was both,” he said. “Everywhere we went, it was all I heard. And, the fact that they know who I was with. You can’t do nothing about what the DJ’s playing. But I was like, I got sick of it at a certain point. It’s funny the cameras caught me because that was from the soul.”
