Rapper Cardi B has been hit with a new civil lawsuit by a Jane Doe accuser, who claims she was injured after the artist allegedly hurled her microphone into the crowd during a beach club performance in Las Vegas. The lawsuit brings renewed attention to an incident that occurred nearly two years ago.
However, Cardi B’s legal team is swiftly firing back, dismissing the lawsuit as a “pitiful attempt at a financial shakedown.” Drew Findling, attorney for Cardi B, stated that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County District Attorney’s Office had already closed this matter a long time ago due to insufficient evidence.
Findling emphasized, “The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County District Attorney’s Office closed this matter for insufficient evidence a long time ago, but apparently the opportunity to try to make money off of a celebrity was too much for some willing law firm to pass up.”
The new civil complaint alleges that the accuser suffered injuries after being struck by the microphone. Despite these new claims, Cardi B’s legal representatives assert that the rapper was previously cleared of any wrongdoing in connection with the incident by law enforcement, and they view the current lawsuit as an opportunistic effort to extract money.
