Drake Went Live for Stake’s 8th Anniversary

Drake took to his Gram on Friday, Aug. 8, to drop some news for both his fans and the gambling community. In honor of Stake’s eighth anniversary, the “What Did I Miss” emcee announced he was going to host a livestream event this past Saturday, Aug. 9, at 8 p.m.

The stream was billed as a celebration for Stake’s milestone, but many fans are wondering if Drake might slip in a sneak preview of his upcoming project, Iceman. Before releasing “What Did I Miss?,” he had shared an early snippet of the track during a livestream. More recently, he posted on the Gram with the caption “too many bangers,” which has fueled speculation that he’s holding onto a batch of new heat. Neither Drake nor his camp has confirmed whether the livestream will feature fresh music, but the hints have left supporters expecting something major.

In case you missed it, Drake is also making headlines in the courtroom. A federal judge in Manhattan just allowed his legal team to serve a key third-party witness in his ongoing lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG) using alternative methods after several failed attempts at in-person delivery.

Get this, in a memorandum opinion filed this week, Judge Jeannette A. Vargas approved the motion to serve Kojo Menne Asamoah, who Drake claims has insight into UMG’s alleged manipulation of streaming numbers for a recording he says is defamatory. “Plaintiff alleges that Mr. Asamoah possesses knowledge relating to UMG’s use of covert tactics to promote the Defamatory Material,” the court noted, “including because Plaintiff believes that Mr. Asamoah was involved in directing payments and/or financial incentives from UMG to third parties involved in online botting.”

If you want a refresher on Kojo, just listen to Drake’s Family Matters, during the third verse. The 6God says his name loud and clear.
