Marlon Wayans Pushes Tyriq Withers to the Edge in Jordan Peele-Produced Football Horror ‘Him’

The latest trailer and posters for Him, the upcoming football horror film produced by Jordan Peele, give audiences a chilling look at stars Tyriq Withers and Marlon Wayans in their most haunting roles yet.

Withers, a former college wide receiver, is seen in one striking image walking down the football field in a Christ-like pose, flanked by faceless cheerleaders and drenched in blood. Wayans appears with all of his character’s Super Bowl rings, his gaze unsettling and one eye crying blood.

The trailer turns up the terror, spotlighting Wayans’ portrayal of Isaiah White, a legendary quarterback whose methods for molding greatness are as violent as they are disturbing. From deliberately injuring others with footballs to injecting drugs and exhibiting extreme toxicity, White pushes Withers’ character to his breaking point. The question is whether this drive will elevate him or destroy him.

According to the official synopsis:

Him stars Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback who has devoted his life and identity to football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan, suffering a potentially career-ending brain injury.

When all seems lost, Cam’s idol Isaiah White (Wayans), an eight-time Championship-winning quarterback and cultural icon, offers to train him at his secluded compound, where he lives with his influencer wife Elsie White (Julia Fox). As training intensifies, Isaiah’s charm begins to unravel into something far more sinister, dragging Cam into a psychological and physical spiral that could cost him everything.

The film also features Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, MMA fighter Maurice Green, and hip-hop artists Guapdad 4000 and Tierra Whack—making their feature film debuts.

Him is directed by Justin Tipping from a Black List script by Zack Akers, Skip Bronkie, and Tipping. Produced by Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions with Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson, the project also counts Monkeypaw’s Kate Oh and David Kern as executive producers.
