Halle Berry has addressed comments from her ex-husband David Justice that have been making the rounds online after he spoke about why their marriage ended.
Berry and Justice were married from 1993 until 1997. During a recent appearance on the All the Smoke podcast, Justice reflected on that time, admitting, “I was young and had only been in one real relationship before her. My knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom around relationships just wasn’t vast.”
He recalled questioning their future together, saying, “I’m thinking, ‘OK, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with?’ And at that time, as a young guy, she don’t cook, don’t clean, don’t really seem motherly and then we start having issues.”
Justice also noted the strain caused by their demanding schedules. “We spent a lot of time apart because she was doing movies in this country, that country,” he explained. “Honestly, we probably could have made it if I knew about therapy.”
Adding more context, he revealed, “She asked me to marry her after knowing me for five months. I said OK, but I don’t know if my heart was really into it. I didn’t want to make her feel bad and say no.”
The remarks quickly gained traction across socials, prompting Berry to respond subtly. While she did not address Justice directly, her reaction made it clear she was aware of the conversation and the narrative surrounding their past.
