Guess it’s good to put old beefs to bed. Two rap heavyweights who once stood on opposite sides of one of hip hop’s most notorious feuds are now coming together for a project no one saw coming. Jadakiss and Beanie Sigel have announced a full collaborative album titled Kiss The Mac, set to arrive in 2025.
Philadelphia legend Freeway will serve as executive producer on the project, which promises guest spots from both The LOX and State Property. The record is being billed as a moment of unity between two crews that once defined an era of lyrical warfare.
The news was made official in a video featuring Freeway alongside both Jadakiss and Beanie, finally ending months of speculation. Fans had already been buzzing after their joint appearance on “Motion Picture,” a standout track from Philly rapper D. Jones’s Still Counting Blessings. The song, which also included K. Gibbs, was the first time the two emcees had appeared together since their bitter clashes in the early 2000s.
Their rivalry is etched in hip hop history. Tensions began when Jay Z reportedly aimed subliminal bars at Jadakiss on the remix to R. Kelly’s “Fiesta.” From there, friction between Roc A Fella and The LOX only escalated. By 2002, the beef hit its peak when State Property fired off a freestyle targeting Jadakiss, a move that nearly pushed things beyond music. Rumors even spread that Jadakiss considered bringing a weapon to Hot 97 during the height of the tension.
Now, more than two decades later, the story has come full circle. What started as one of the fiercest rivalries of the mixtape era is turning into one of rap’s most unexpected collaborations, with Kiss The Mac set to rewrite the legacy of both icons.
