Aaron Pierre Joins Ryan Gosling In New ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ Film

Guess Aaron Pierre is about to take his booming career to a galaxy far far away after officially entering the Star Wars universe, where he will be joining an impressive lineup that includes Ryan Gosling, Amy Adams, Mia Goth, and Matt Smith in the highly anticipated film Star Wars: Starfighter.

Sheesh, talk about a level up after his Netflix hit vehicle, Rebel Ridge.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the project is now in production under the direction of Shawn Levy. The new cast members announced are Pierre, Adams, Flynn Gray, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, and Daniel Ings. They join previously revealed stars Gosling, Goth, and Smith. Gosling will not only headline the film but also serve as an executive producer alongside Dan Levine, Josh McLaglen, and Mary McLaglen, while Levy produces with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Plot details remain under wraps, but a few story points are clear. Gosling is set to lead the film, with Gray in another significant role, while Goth and Smith are confirmed as villains. Unlike past entries, this movie will stand apart from the Skywalker Saga. The only connection is its timeline, which is set five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Levy shared his enthusiasm in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “I feel a profound sense of excitement and honor as we begin production on Star Wars: Starfighter,” he said. “From the day Kathy Kennedy called me up, inviting me to develop an original adventure in this incredible Star Wars galaxy, this experience has been a dream come true, creatively and personally. Star Wars shaped my sense of what story can do, how characters and cinematic moments can live with us forever. To join this storytelling galaxy with such brilliant collaborators onscreen and off, is the thrill of a lifetime.”

With Pierre now confirmed, Star Wars: Starfighter continues to build momentum as one of the most talked about projects in the franchise’s next phase.
