Fat Joe Legal Battle Presses On After Judge Rejects AI Citation Fix

Fat Joe is facing a courtroom showdown with his former hype man, Terrance “T.A.” Dixon, as a federal judge pushes the case forward despite questions over errors in the initial filing. Dixon filed the lawsuit in June 2024, accusing the Bronx rap star of financial misconduct and alleging he was shorted money during their working relationship. He also claims he witnessed other troubling behavior.

Fat Joe, born Joseph Cartagena, has flatly denied all accusations. His legal team filed a motion to dismiss, blasting the complaint for being filled with mistakes. They specifically aimed Dixon’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, accusing him of relying on artificial intelligence to draft citations that turned out to be inaccurate and misleading.

According to AllHipHop editor Grouchy Greg Watkins, Blackburn asked U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Rochon to allow him to revise the filing, citing what he called “inadvertent citation inaccuracies.” He argued that correcting the record was necessary for fairness. Judge Rochon denied the request and instead instructed Blackburn to address the problems in future filings.

Amid the legal drama, Fat Joe has turned to socials to voice his frustration and to remind fans he is not backing down. “I’ve been tested the last few months,” he wrote. “I’ve lost my big brother, my father, my mother, and now I’m facing these despicable lies. But please know I will not break, and I will NEVER back down.” For him, the case is not only about clearing his name in court but also about standing strong during one of the most difficult stretches of his life.
