Miami would certainly like a tour.

In all the rap news/rumors that circulated this week, one of the most interesting was probably Nicki Minaj‘s interview with DJ Whoo Kid, in which she discussed Drake, and the lack of Young Money artists on his latest, now platinum-selling LP, Nothing Was The Same. Here’s the gist of the sentiment she shared with the veteran DJ/radio show host:

“, I’m Young Money til the death of me. Drake can do what Drake do but Nicki Minaj is a whole different person. I think your team is your team. Who gives a fuck about trying to be different? I’m always going to want my team to be a part of my project, no matter what, in some way.

At first glance–well, no, who are we kidding–at every glance this looks like a strategic side-swipe at Drake, who admitted on the intro to his album that the relationship between he and Minaj have been strained to say the least. Early reports indicated that Lil’ Wayne would be making one of the few guest appearances on Drake’s album, but on the final tracklist, the only rappers credited other than Drake were Jay Z, Big Sean & 2 Chainz, none of whom are signed to YMCMB.

To help quell these rumors, on the Miami stop of Drake’s ongoing Would You Like A Tour? tour, he brought out Lil’ Wayne to perform probably their most popular collaboration yet, “HYFR”, whch finds its home on Drake’s last album, the 2x platinum-selling Take Care. The reaction was earth-shaking, as nearly every patron bearing witness found themselves jumping and screaming as their beloved Weezy F. advanced slowly to the front of the stage amid climactic eruptions of smoke.
