Academy Award winning screenplay writer Geoffrey Fletcher has partnered up with Bombay Sapphire again for the Imagination Series Competition.
The event will take place in conjunction with the Tribeca Film Festival. We had the opportunity to chat with Fletcher, check out what he had to say.
Tell us about the script you wrote this year?
Each of us has so much creativity inside. Sometimes all it takes is a framework for our utilizing it. This year’s script allows for entrants to guide a story and its universe to the their imagination’s content. It also leaves room for experimentation with time.
What has the collaborative process been like with Bombay Sapphire?
Working with Bombay Sapphire has been as enjoyable as any professional experience I’ve ever had. Their genuine passion for creativity shows in everything they do. I can’t imagine a better collaborator. Their entire team is as supportive as they are talented.
Tell us about the Tribeca Film Festival event you will be hosting?
The Tribeca Film Festival event marks the world premiere of this year’s 5 Imagination Series films. I’m really looking forward to it. Not only do we unveil these wonderful films, Bombay Sapphire has created a space for the event that is imaginative itself.
Have you enjoyed the films you have been watching?
These films are as varied as they are inspired. They range from heart-breaking to mind-bending and more. All are so beautifully produced too.
Is this year better than ever?
I don’t think the two years can be compared. I look at this year’s films as a wave of entries reflecting the high standards set by last year’s films.
Final thoughts?
I hope that people take the time to view these films after they premiere this month. They are extraordinary.
