Kevin Durant Is Being Sued Over ‘Durantula’ Nickname

TheSource.Com

The last thing you want as a distraction when you’re in the NBA Finals is a lawsuit, and thats exactly what Kevin Durant now has to deal with. Mark Durante is suing the NBA’s Scoring Champ for damages and an injunction for Kevin Durant to stop using the nickname ‘Durantula’. Durante was a gifted guitarist in the 80’s for numerous rock bands and he eventually adopted the onstage persona/nickname ‘Durantula,’ which he then used to sell merchandise as well. Durante is suing Durant in Federal Court for using the nickname after asking Durant’s reps to stop using the name. Durant’s reps denied any use of the nickname all the while Nike launched a shoe campaign using the name, along with Durant signing basketballs that would later be for sale on his website with the nickname on them. Hopefully this all gets worked out for the better in court, and don’t forget to watch Game 5 of the NBA Finals tonight on ABC at 9:00 PM ET.
