A night of drinking ended tragically for this kid
Brady Becker drank a little bit at Mardi Gras–which, all things considered, is like saying he used a fork at a restaurant–and had a horrific encounter with a few undercover cops that landed him a black eye and an arrest record.
According to police reports, Becker was with a large group of individuals when he ran into several undercover cops. Prior to the encounter, Becker had allegedly admitted to downing half a bottle of liquor, and was walking around screaming “f*ck the cops.” Typical Mardi Gras behavior. The report then says that Nicholas Breaux, one of the plainclothes officers, “escorted” Becker to the ground, which is when Becker began disobeying orders and striking Breaux.
Presumably, this is where the above video clip starts, and Breax wastes no time using that infamous “excessive force” we’re all to used to seeing in these cell phone clips. The assault is clear-cut. Breaux holds Becker down with one hand while he strikes him repeatedly–there’s no room for speculation.
HOWEVER.
An internal investigation will not be conducted. Why? Because there is “no evidence of wrongdoing”. Right. Becker has been charged with possession of alcohol by a minor, resisting an officer, battery of a police officer, and inciting a riot.
Nicholas Breaux has been charged with, well, nothing.
