America is a scary place
A 75-year old man, Robert Hollis, a legally blind man living in Los Angeles, met a horrific and tragic fate last week when he was murdered in cold blood, and decapitated by the person (or people) that took his life.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Hollis, a singer and songwriter, had recently, forcibly been relieved of his sight, understandably sending him into somewhat of an emotional black hole. However, as the Times reports, he’d recently begun learning Braille, and making an effort to learn how to function better with his new disability. Unfortunately, he’ll never get to use what he learned.
Hollis’ son discovered his decapitate father, and is now working with police in their investigation. There’s a $50,000 reward for those with information that leads to an arrest.
A bizarre sidenote? It didn’t appear that anything was taken from Hollis’ home.
