Is isn’t just the handling of Demarcus Cousins why there always seems to be a story of George Karl being at odds with his players. His treatment of the Kings’ acquisition of Rajon Rondo was equally littered with awkward sound bites about the former All-Star, and most recently he made some pretty awkward comments about Kings shooting guard Seth Curry that didn’t sit well with a lot of people, especially Cousins.
When asked about his thoughts on Curry’s future in the NBA, Karl basically said he’s good.
“I think Seth will be a combo guard, play both 1 and 2. I think usually those guys when I look at them, I see them probably trying to score a little bit too much and I think he probably should become more of a playmaking point as much as a scoring point.”
But not good enough.
“But he’s going to be around for a couple years. He’s definitely going to have a few more years of someone; I think we have him for one more year. I think he has a tenacity to him and a good basketball feel to him. Now he’s just got to be confident and consistent.”
DeMarcus Cousins made sure that when the cameras were no both him and Curry, he made a more longevity-based statement on Seth’s career.
