Anthony Mackie is set to star as legendary attorney Johnnie Cochran in an untitled film based on the 1981 Signal Hill police brutality case.
The Signal Hill case was one of the most highly publicized police brutality cases after a young student died in police custody. Cochran suspected foul play and persuaded the family to get an autopsy report, and the rest was history.
Robbie Brenner will co-produce with Mackie and Jason Spire. David McMillan penned the script and will also serve as the executive producer, alongside Jeff Kwatinetz.
