Cleveland Browns Lineman Cameron Erving Takes Disabled Teen to Prom After Her Boyfriend Dies

Elna Wright, a disabled 17-year-old Ohio high schooler, got the surprise of a lifetime at the Elyria High School prom when Cleveland Browns offensive tackle, Cameron Erving, showed up to be her date for prom. It was a welcomed and heart-warming gesture, considering it had been a rough year for Ms. Wright, whose boyfriend passed away a few months ago.

Wright’s parents, determined to somehow still make their sports-crazed daughter’s prom night special, reached out on social media to see if there was an athlete that would be willing to escort Elna to prom, and Erving, an offensive lineman from Wright’s favorite team, the Cleveland Browns, showed up to do the honors.

Erving showed up in a limo, posed for photographs with an elated Elna in the town square, and escorted her to the dance, where they posed for more pictures. Of his gesture, Erving had this to say, “I wanted to come here for her. Just being able to make her smile, that’s the biggest thing. Everybody deserves happiness, so anything I can do to make this night as special as possible.”
