Reminder: Kevin Durant is a Warrior.

Not a fighter, or a resilient basketball player, though he could be classified as those things as well. But in this case, we mean a Golden State Warrior. One of the best scorers in the history of the planet Earth will now be playing alongside the best shooter in the history of planet Earth. Speaking of history, that’s a good term to use to describe any other team’s title hopes.

Golden State welcomed Durant, whom they pried from the pleading arms of the Oklahoma City Thunder on July 4, today at a gleeful press conference in Oakland, where a suited up Durant described alerting the Thunder about his career decision as the hardest thing he’s ever had to do.

On the flipside, KD was excited about the prospect of playing alongside guys like Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala, whom he played with in the FIBA World Basketball Championships, and though he didn’t come right out and say it, he was downright giddy about how much his path to the Larry O’Brien trophy has cleared by his free agency move.

So giddy, in fact, that KD had the gall to clown Klay Thompson, who single-handedly shot the Warriors back into Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals, which will forever be remembered as the Thunder loss that led to Durant leaving Oklahoma City. (The Warriors would go on to win Game 7 at home, completing a stunning 3-1 comeback.)

The Warriors also shared video of KD “getting buckets”–in reality, he sunk a mid-range jumper and a lazy lay-up while wearing street clothes–in their facilities as he got familiar with his new home. You can check that out below.
