Tionna Smalls Sparks Boycott After Nail Salon Beatdown in Brooklyn

Social media was outraged after a Facebook video went viral of Asian nail workers assaulting a grandmother, granddaughter, and friend with sticks and dustpans while one employee allegedly tossed acetone at them.  Shocking video shows multiple nail technicians at the salon ganging up on the trio at 888 Happy Red Apple Nails shop on Nostrand Avenue in East Flatbush Brooklyn.

TV Star/Author Tionna Smalls caught wind of the video and immediately sprung into action leading a boycott and protest in front of the nail salon.

The melee started when the customer, Christina Thomas, 21, paid for both her and her grandmother’s pedicures but was dissatisfied with her $5 eyebrow waxing.  She allegedly refused to pay for the botched job and employees started an all-out war in the small nail shop. Witnesses say the employees allegedly began using broomsticks, fists, and dustpans to beat the pair and shove them out of the salon.
Tionna Smalls reposted the video on Instagram and began the boycott.

Thomas’s mother, wrote on Instagram: “My Mother, daughter and her friend where attack Friday night by a gang of Asian nail technicians. Why? Because, my daughter refused to pay them for a botched 5$ eyebrow wax. Beside them getting hit with sticks, acetone was thrown on them.”

Police are still trying to identify the lady accused of throwing the acetone below.

Following the protest this morning, Tionna posted on her Facebook page that the fight has just begun.
“I spoke to one of the victims and she showed us where they sliced her on her arms. This is disgusting and I’m very happy that we shut them down yet another day. But we have a long road ahead.”
