The Source Magazine caught up with producer Nikhil Seetharam, also known as Nikhil S or “Kromatik”, on the red carpet for the 2012 SESAC Pop Music Awards on Thursday evening in New York City. The 22-year old producer and Toronto native has had a string of hits over the last two years and all of it was thanks to a chance encounter with producer T-Minus, who he spotted, while he was working at a local Best Buy. He told T-Minus that he was a composer and he invited him into the studio and the rest is history as they say. Within 6 months, Nikhil had Nicki Minaj’s “Moment 4 Life” under his belt. Although, he hasn’t met Nicki, yet, he spent three weeks in the studio with Drake working on his latest album “Take Care.” Nikhil is a self-taught composer and he says his real passion is composing for film. He composed the score for Vivica A. Fox’s latest film Searching for Angel’s, which will be out this year!
