Sometimes your first plan doesn’t always work out, but that doesn’t mean you should give up. Such an anecdote rings true for uber talented artist Keithian, who has begun reinventing the wheel of his career over the past year. After things didn’t follow through as intended from working with Virgin Records, the artist took matters into his own hands. Music is the most natural thing Keithian does, and performing for crowds is simply in his blood.
In terms of Keithian’s sound, it’s very diverse, but shouldn’t be labeled or put into a one size fits all box. There’s a lot more to it than meets the ear. In fact, he has branded his overall sound. “I call my music ‘gumbo music’. It has a little bit of everything all mixed together. My music has jazz, soul, but also some latin and west Indie fusion,” said Keithian. It’s no wonder that his versatility has earned him the chance to write for Rihanna’s next project. In the end, his music comes directly from the source.
On the topic of working with other producers, Keithian has been busy keeping up with requests to collaborate on projects. “Birds” is his most recent work, which belongs to his upcoming EP “To My Pain”. Upon first listen, you’ll quickly become wowed by how unreal Keithian’s sound is. “So many people are listening to the single ‘Birds’, and coming back to me with their individual meanings for the song. People relate to it because they’ve been through it. It’s all about the inability to be with someone because your mind isn’t there. It’s flying with the birds,” said the artist. If “Birds” is a preview of what is to come with the new EP, we’re in for a real treat.
Next up, Keithian tells us he will be dropping new music left and right. He has major plans for his future, and intends on accomplishing every goal he sets for himself. It won’t be before long that Keithian becomes a household name at the rate he is going. Stay tuned, to say the least!
