Carmelo Anthony looked like his old self in Monday’s game against the Chicago Bulls. Melo as a new member of the Portland Trailblazers the former New York Knick dropped team-high 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. The Blazers beat the Bulls 117-94 on the road.

“I’m starting to get my feel and my flow back,” Melo said in a post-game interview. “That last game in Cleveland I was flat… but tonight just felt like I had my bop, had my bounce had my pop.”

NBA fans clearly missing the excitement that comes with having Carmelo on the floor that even on the road in Chicago there were chants for Anthony to stay on the floor after a hot night.

“The support is unreal. The work that I put in was leading me to this moment,” Melo said. The Blazers still have a long way to go currently 6-12 in a competitive Western Conference. With Lillard back on the floor, their new big 3 of Melo, Lillard, and C.J. McCollum need to string together some wins if they want to make the playoffs.

Carmelo’s last year has been interesting, to say the least. The Chicago Bulls were actually the last team Melo was technically signed to before being waived before he ever played a game, so one might call this a revenge game. Carmelo will face his third career team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, on Wednesday at the Moda Center in Portland.
