The Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury rematch pay-per-view receipts are in and it did fabulously between 800,000 to 850,000 buys.
The Athletic reported on the numbers and it places the heavyweight bout in esteemed air for championship boxing.
The first fight back on December 1st, 2018 generated around 325,000 buys. The last heavyweight fight that surpassed this amount in North America as Mike Tyson vs. Lennox Lewis in 2002 at 1.97 million buys.

The promotions involved have sold more than $17 million at the gate. This eclipsed the $16.8 million sold ahead of Lewis-Holyfield II.
Wilder vs. Fury is still making history from the antics in the ring to the financial gains still being counted.
