Pop Smoke’s Murder Investigation Faces Setback Due to Issues with Finding Witnesses

Its been almost 2 weeks since the untimely death of Pop Smoke. According to TMZ, law enforcement is running into problems with the investigation due to a lack of credible witnesses.

Investigators are saying that many people are refusing to talk and those that have come forward as witnesses have “sketchy” stories. Some of the witnesses’ stories have been altered or turned out to be untrue. Shortly after Pop Smoke’s murder, people released faux-evidence on social media and law enforcement wasted their time looking on social media for a break in the case as the faux-evidence ended up being unrelated to the case.

Because there was nobody outside at the time of the murder, police have no neutral witness testimony. Due to there being no credible witnesses, and Smoke being a New York native, LAPD has had to correspond with investigators in New York for help in the case.

The motive for Pop Smoke’s murder is also unclear. TMZ initially reported that it was a targeted hit due to surveillance footage that was released online of four men entering Pop Smoke’s Airbnb from the back door. However, LAPD dispelled these claims as there was conflicting evidence that impedes them from knowing what happened to Pop Smoke.
