Here we go again. This time Katt Williams is speaking out (again) about his surprising encounter with disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. In a recent appearance on This Past Weekend with Theo Von, Williams detailed a meeting with Weinstein, where the film producer allegedly offered him “two actresses like they were playing cards.”
Check this out. The conversation began when Von asked Williams about the pressure that celebrities face to compromise their personal boundaries for success in the entertainment industry. Williams responded by pointing out that these kinds of pressures aren’t exclusive to entertainment but can be found in other areas as well, including politics and religion. “Not entertainment, exclusively,” Williams explained. “Politics, religion, science… everywhere. Some of this is human nature, right? Because we listen and we don’t judge.”
As Williams’ career progressed, he says he was exposed to a side of the industry he hadn’t imagined. “Most of the stuff I wouldn’t have believed until I had to get to a certain level to get to see the proof,” he shared. Reflecting on his meeting with Weinstein, Williams expressed surprise at how powerful Weinstein was at the time. “I was as shocked as anybody about how powerful Harvey Weinstein was… he gets whatever he wants,” he said.
Get this, Williams went on to recount how Weinstein allegedly made an unexpected offer during their meeting. “He offered me two actresses like they were playing cards. I was like, what?” Williams said, still taken aback by the experience.
What’s more, when discussing how he handles these types of situations, Williams said, “In these scary situations, I don’t even leave it up to me. I’m gon’ do what the superhero would do in this part of the movie, regardless, and deal with what happens after.”
This isn’t the first time Williams has addressed his interaction with Weinstein. In a past interview on Club Shay Shay, he mentioned a similarly unsettling offer from the producer, which sparked conversation in the industry.
Weinstein, once a powerful figure in Hollywood, was convicted of crimes in 2022 and is currently serving a 16-year sentence in Los Angeles. His 2020 conviction in New York was overturned in April 2024.
Katt Williams’ revelations continue to shed light on some of the less-discussed realities of Hollywood, offering a glimpse into his personal experiences navigating the industry.
