Doechii is here. Doechi is not playing around, and now she is a Grammy winner.
The Tampa, Florida emcee pulled up to the 2025 Grammy Awards and took home a huge win with Best Rap Album for Alligator Bites Never Heal.
Signed to TDE, it’s clear the sky is the limit for Doechii, and after she took home such a coveted Hip Hop honor, the rising star took the stage. Her performance was nothing short of EVERYTHING. Doechii delivered a memorable performance that will rank as one of the best you’ll see for an artist poised to become a household name. The performance was a high-energy rendition of her singles “Catfish” and “Denial is a River” from Alligator Bites Never Heal. The performance was backed by a synchronized crew of dancers in matching outfits, where she was in lockstep with her fit until her dancers took it off!
Check out the performance below.
When Doechii came to the Grammy’s media room, she took a couple of questions before bouncing, but here’s what she gave the reporters:
When asked how does it feel to win her first Grammy, here’s how Doechii responded:
Um, it feels incredible. It feels like this is bigger than me, you know? It feels like a movement of art authenticity and vulnerability wins. That’s what this win feels like to me.
Then Doechii was asked about her performance:
This performance is one of the most challenging performances I’ve ever done and I felt a need to push myself harder than I ever had before. It meant everything to me too, to prove myself tonight to me, and so it was about Broadway and theater and art, and I think I brought that to the stage. It was so much.
It’s clear that Doechii is the moment and the future. We’re here for it.
