Rapsody, Grammy Win for Best Melodic Rap Performance – 3:AM

Here’s how Rapsody reflected about her music and the song 3AM:

“It’s all about humanity in music, for people to hear and see themselves in music. When they hear my music, especially 3 AM, this love song, I want them to think who they love and fell out of love with, and who they’re married to.”

When it came to collaborations and working with Erykah Badu:

“I would love to collaborate Grace Jones. I wanted to honor her … Erykah she’s one of my biggest inspirations and one of my best friends. We took our time and didn’t rush it. She said she thinks we got a smash and she wasn’t wrong.”

Doechii, Grammy Win for Best Rap Album – Alligator Bites Never Heal

Doechii was asked how it feels to take home her first Grammy:

It feels incredible. It feels like this is bigger than me, you know? It feels like a movement of art authenticity wins vulnerability wins.”

Now about that dope AF performance:

This performance is one of the most difficult performances I’ve ever done and I really felt a need to push myself harder than I ever had before. It meant everything to me too, prove myself tonight and it was about Broadway and theater and art. and I think I brought that to the stage.

SZA, Grammy Win for Best R&B Song – Saturn

SZA was asked about her upcoming Super Bowl performance and if she could share what we could expect from the show:

That’s King Kendrick’s performance, and that is all for him to divulge, so honored to be a part of it

SZA was asked about being an inspiration for the next generation of music:

The point is the reach the impact and the experience that I’ve had just creating music and all types of music and just do what you want it and make it feel beautiful to you and making it it sense to you.

SZA just finished a silent retreat. She as asked what she learned during that time of silence:

Not everything has to be said and waiting is really important and a lot of what we create for ourselves, as far as drama and chaos, is also thankfully depending on our willingness to go beyond that pain and look for anything desperately, if you’re looking for a joy desperately, but if you chase it tenaciously, I find that it will reveal itself. So that’s my goal, hopefully this is garner more peace within myself.
