Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis’ Hairstylist Claps Back Over Hair Drama in Controversial Draw

Gervonta Davis’ hairstylist has broken her silence following claims that hair product residue played a role in the boxer’s unexpected stumble during his recent fight against Lamont Roach. The bout, which ended in a controversial majority draw, left fans and critics debating whether Davis’ actions in the ninth round should have been ruled a knockdown.

During the fight at a packed Barclays Center in New York, Davis suddenly dropped to one knee after a jab from Roach. While Davis attributed the stumble to irritation caused by hair product dripping into his eyes, the referee opted not to count it as a knockdown, sparking heated discussions among spectators.

Davis, who retained his WBA lightweight title, later explained, “I got my hair done a couple of days ago, and the product started sweating into my face, burning my eyes.” His explanation, however, was met with skepticism from the crowd, prompting him to defend himself further.

Enter LeeBTheBrand, Davis’ hairstylist, who quickly responded to the claims on social media. She clarified that she had styled Davis’ hair days before the fight and denied using excessive product. “I did his hair on Wednesday. It’s Saturday. He’s been through press events, gym sessions, and the weigh-in since then. That’s no excuse,” she stated. To back her claims, she shared a video of Davis at her salon, showing no signs of overuse of hair products, and even posted an image of the product label, which clearly stated “no grease.”

The controversy has left Roach frustrated, as he believes the fight’s outcome could have been different if the referee had ruled Davis’ stumble as a knockdown. “If you voluntarily take a knee and the ref starts counting, it’s a knockdown. If that’s a knockdown, I win,” Roach said. He expressed his desire for a rematch, adding, “I thought I pulled it out. I want to run it back.”

Davis, meanwhile, took to social media to address the situation, stating, “They took the fight from me and made it a draw because of that knee. But I landed the most punches. He didn’t even hit me when I took the knee. I get it, I shouldn’t have done that, but the product in my hair was burning my eyes!”

As the debate continues, fans are left wondering whether a rematch is on the horizon. One thing is certain: Davis may be reconsidering his pre-fight hair routine before stepping into the ring again.
