While LeBron James sat out due to a groin injury during the Los Angeles Lakers loss to the Denver Nuggets on Friday night, he made the most of his free time by attending his son Bryce James’ state championship game in Sacramento.
What a great moment.
Bryce and the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers triumphed over Stockton Lincoln in the CIF state Division I championship, securing a 58-53 victory.
Although Bryce played just over 25 minutes and was limited to three points, he contributed five rebounds and two assists, helping his team make a strong second-half push.
A win is a win, though.
After trailing by four points at halftime, Sierra Canyon surged back, taking a one-point lead with 1:52 remaining. The tension built as Maximo Adams added a crucial basket and drew a foul to extend the Trailblazers’ lead to five with just 17 seconds left. From courtside, LeBron and his wife, Savannah, couldn’t hide their excitement as they watched their son play in such a pivotal moment.
Bryce capped off his high school career by securing the only state basketball title in the family. He will soon take his talents to the University of Arizona next season after committing to the Wildcats in January.
