LL COOL J Returns to ‘NCIS’ for Season 22: “NCIS. Let’s get it”

Longevity is a respectable stat, too. Just ask LL COOL J, who is making his highly anticipated return to NCIS for its 22nd season, and fans are in for a treat! On Thursday, March 20, the iconic rapper and actor took to the Gram to share the exciting news with his followers in a joint post with the show.

Get this: The video kicked off with a blurred screen, teasing his return with the words, “Guess who’s back.” LL COOL J emerged as the fog cleared, ready to rejoin the set.

“That’s better,” LL said with a smile. “Back on set, baby! NCIS. Let’s get it.”

The actor portrayed Sam Hanna on NCIS: Los Angeles and shared his thoughts on returning to the franchise during a conversation with People in April 2024. “It just felt right to me. It felt like, ‘You know what? Let’s have some fun. Let’s do this,’” he said, reflecting on the positive energy he felt stepping back into his role.

LL COOL J also discussed how his character has evolved. “The story definitely wasn’t over at all, that’s for sure,” he explained. “We’re finding out more about Sam, but remember, this is a different thing because Sam was transferred here.”

In addition to revisiting his character, LL took a moment to praise NCIS lead actress Vanessa Lachey. “I think it’s good energy,” he said. “She’s a lot of fun. I’m really happy for her, happy for the success that she’s enjoying with the show, and I look forward to making my contribution in the episodes that I appear and just hopefully making the show that much more enjoyable.”

NCIS will return for Season 22 on Monday, March 24.
