Kid Cudi’s Personal Collection Snags $850K at Exclusive Auction

Kid Cudi recently generated significant buzz in the collector’s market after auctioning off pieces from his archive through Pharrell Williams’ Joopiter platform. The sale, titled On Another Planet: The Collection of Kid Cudi, brought in $850,000 from 75 curated items spanning jewelry, sneakers, apparel, and artwork.

Get this: The standout piece was a custom 14-karat gold N.E.R.D. pendant by Jacob & Co., initially created for Pharrell in 2005. After acquiring it at a previous auction, Cudi decided to part with the statement piece, which ultimately sold for $243,750—more than twice its pre-sale estimate. Another highlight included a collaborative chain designed by Ben Baller, Takashi Murakami, and Cudi, which commanded $187,500.

Regarding sneaker enthusiasts, they created competitive bidding, with a coveted pair of Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 Lows by Virgil Abloh selling for $82,500. Additional notable sales featured an 18-karat gold Ben Baller chain adorned with diamonds, sapphires, and rubies ($43,750) and vintage concert tees from Cudi’s wardrobe, including rare designs honoring Eminem, Nirvana, and Michael Jackson.

When reflecting on the auction, Cudi shared with GQ: “Joopiter has been wanting to do something with me for a while, so I recently reached out to the team and let them know I had some stuff I was willing to part with, things I’ve collected throughout my career.” He expressed particular sentimentality about the Michael Jackson tee, noting: “Anybody who goes vintage shopping in the best places knows there’s always so many dope Michael Jackson shirts… so it took me some time to really think about letting this one go.”
