The hit drama series The Chi is expanding its cast for its seventh season with three exciting new additions. Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad, veteran performer Wendy Raquel Robinson and actress/model Karrueche Tran will appear in guest-starring roles when the show returns this May.
Iconic Phylicia Rashad will portray Renee, described as one of the few people who truly understands Pastor Zeke and can reach him on a deeper level. Robinson takes on the role of Riley Dalton, a compassionate yet straightforward woman who uses her own experiences with loss to help others through difficult times. Tran will play Zuri, a woman whose attempts to solve her problems always seem to attract more trouble.
Get this, they join returning series regulars including Jacob Latimore, Lynn Whitfield, Yolonda Ross and Luke James, along with a host of recurring guest stars like La La Anthony, Vic Mensa and Kandi Burruss.
When it comes to Season 7, it will focus on the powerful women of the South Side Chicago community as they assert their strength under Alicia’s leadership. However, the quest for power comes with challenges as relationships are tested and new conflicts emerge.
What’s more, the new season will be available on demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers starting May 16, followed by a linear premiere on the Showtime channel May 18 at 9 p.m.
Created by Lena Waithe and executive produced by Common, The Chi continues to tell its compelling story of interconnected lives seeking redemption and human connection in Chicago.
