2 Chainz is bringing his storytelling skills to the screen with a new short film titled Red Clay, and fans got their first look with the release of the official trailer on Monday (July 22). The Atlanta rap heavyweight co-wrote the project alongside actor and filmmaker Omar Epps, setting the stage for a cinematic tale rooted in the heart of the South.
Set in Atlanta, Red Clay follows the story of Nook, a young man played by rising actor Christopher A’mmanuel, as he struggles to break free from the generational cycles and toxic environments that threaten to hold him back. The film aims to blend realism and emotion while showcasing the grit and soul of the city that raised 2 Chainz.
Adding more weight to the release, Red Clay will be accompanied by a powerhouse soundtrack. The lineup includes music from The Isley Brothers, Ne-Yo, Lil Yachty, and more, making it as much of a sonic experience as it is a visual one.
“The wait is over….with the Red Clay Soundtrack dropping soon it’s only right we drop the trailer,” 2 Chainz wrote on Instagram. “Want early access to the full short film, screenings, album release, and exclusive drops? Hit the link in bio and join the email list for VIP access.”
With the trailer already generating buzz, fans are now eagerly anticipating both the film and its soundtrack. Red Clay is shaping up to be another creative leap for 2 Chainz—one that merges his passion for music, storytelling, and his city.
