Fivio Foreign Walks Free After Jail Stint

Brooklyn’s own Fivio Foreign is back on the streets after spending over six months behind bars, officially released from a New Jersey facility on August 1. The court credited him with 196 days already served and issued a sentence of three years probation in connection to charges from earlier this year.

The case stems from a January incident where Fivio was accused of threatening a woman with a firearm. He ultimately entered a guilty plea to terroristic threats. According to his attorney, Adam Lustberg of Lustberg Law Offices, Fivio had originally faced a mandatory minimum sentence of five years with the possibility of up to twenty. Instead, the rapper avoided extended prison time and walked out with probation and a second chance.

“Considering the original exposure, this outcome was a major relief for Fivio and his team,” Lustberg noted.

Under his probation conditions, Fivio must steer clear of legal trouble and pass regular drug screenings. These requirements are standard for probation and are designed to help keep those released focused on a clean path forward.

During his absence, New York’s soundscape continued to evolve. Fivio hasn’t dropped any new tracks since November, while the city’s scene has seen the rise of fresh waves like “sexy drill” and viral edits featuring artists such as Ice Spice. The spotlight now waits to see whether Fivio can reclaim his momentum and stake his place in the city’s ever-shifting hip hop game.
