Kind of old news but in case you missed it, Salt Lake City’s own Dave Blunts has been beefing with 50 Cent. Funny times. The up and coming emcee known for stirring the pot both in interviews and in music, zeroed in on 50’s history with Daphne Joy and her alleged ties to Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Sheesh.
Blunts shared a clip from the video of his upcoming diss track, an unapologetic strike at the Queens rap icon. The visuals remix the vibe of the classic “In Da Club” video, flipping nostalgia into a parody while doubling down on his disdain for the G-Unit boss and his long-standing friction with Diddy. Lyrically, Blunts ties the feud directly to Joy and the controversies that have surrounded her name, including accusations of sex work that sparked heated conversations. 50’s public ridicule of Joy only intensified the feud, setting the stage for Blunts to answer back with his own sharp barbs.
The tension escalated further when Lil Rod accused Joy of transactional dealings, a claim that led to 50 mocking her on socials. Joy has denied those allegations and previously accused 50 of abuse before later withdrawing a defamation suit. Blunts leans on that backdrop with the cutting line, “Curtis Jackson don’t really want the drama / Diddy pissed on your dirty baby mama.”
But the hostility goes deeper than Joy. Blunts has openly aligned himself with Ye, recently teaming up with him musically. That allegiance quickly put him in 50’s crosshairs after the rap veteran mocked Ye online. Blunts fired back, and soon after, the tension spilled into his music. 50 did not stay quiet either, responding on the Gram with, “Ye this ya manz? If I catch him I’m pushing down the stairs,” while also taking shots at Blunts’ body transformation for a role he brushed off as unimpressive.
Like we said, funny times.
