Offset is baring it all on his latest project KIARI, his third studio album that takes listeners through pain, growth, and closure. The former Migos rapper reflects on the loss of Takeoff, his own evolution, and most notably, his split from Cardi B.
On the track “Move On,” Offset takes direct aim at what he saw as flaws in their relationship. He raps, “You never listen to no rules / You never cook n*s no food / You just want go out to Nobu / Telling me sht that you don’t do.” The verse makes it clear he is pointing to moments of frustration while also sounding like a man ready to let go.
Dang. The kitchen is supposed to be sacred. Guess not.
Offset goes further in the song by wishing her well with her future relationships, rapping that he hopes her next partner is “great,” which many have speculated could be a nod to her rumored link with NFL star Stefon Diggs.
In a sit down with the Associated Press, Offset broke down the meaning of the record. “It’s about moving on, like, peacefully,” he explained. “That’s what the message is supposed to be: moving on peacefully. It’s all love, peace. It’s love. I just ended that up with the album, just to end that chapter of that s**t because it’s like, just move on, it’s over and done with. It was great while it lasted. You know what I mean? That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”

Still, the Atlanta rapper did not shy away from admitting his own faults. Speaking with Ebro Darden on Apple Music, he owned up to mistakes he made in the marriage. “I f*cked up,” he said. “I gotta acknowledge that and then get back on the journey.”
He continued, “I’ve accepted the actions I’ve done to cause certain situations to happen — I had to. But at first I didn’t. I was trying to act tough and like I didn’t give a f*ck at first. But the actions that I did in the time I was acting that way, I realized I was wrong. I realized I was wrong and had to get out of the way. I’m happy with everything and I want the best.”
With KIARI, Offset closes a turbulent chapter and signals a new beginning, mixing raw confessions with a message that even heartbreak can lead to growth.
