Tonight was more than a game it was a defining moment for the Miami Heat players more importantly LeBron James.  As the game ended there was a touching moment on the court as LeBron James embraced Kevin Durant at mid-court, a sign of class between the two best players in the league, and with that congratulations to the Thunder as well for competing the entire playoffs. What led up to the Miami Heat becoming NBA Champions was a quick start to the game and not looking back. It seemed as if the Thunder could never really get their game going for more than a short period of time, just quick flashes of offense here and there.

As Kevin Durant helped the Thunder cut the lead to 10 at half 59-49 something happened in 3rd quarter that hasn’t happened all series, the Heat came out rolling in the 3rd quarter. This was all powered by the 3 ball, Mike Miller who has been plagued by injuries all season came through in the clutch shooting 7-8 from beyond the arc. The lead during the 3rd quarter got all the way to 27 at one point. The rest of the fourth quarter was all cruising for the Miami Heat. As the world waited 12 minutes for the Heat to celebrate you could see the pressure come off the Miami Heat as they have silenced their doubters, for the moment at least.

As the final buzzer sounded a joyous moment came over South Beach, the monkey that has been on the back of LeBron James for the past 9 years, and the Miami Heat’s last two years has left. LeBron would go on to claim his first NBA Finals MVP by having one of the best post-seasons ever along with recording a triple double tonight. What can be said about the Heat can be said about the Thunder as team that more than deserved to be in the NBA Finals. Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the rest of the Thunder franchise played their hearts out, and will definitely be back in the NBA Finals in the coming years. Once again Congratulations to the Miami Heat. What is next for the basketball world? The USA Olympic team #BasketballNeverStops.
