Ice T to release documentary of legendary author, pimp Robert Beck aka Iceberg Slim
The life of well renowned author and legendary pimp Iceberg Slim is finally coming to theatres after being in talks for years.
Thanks to Ice-T who produced the film which is directed by Ice-T’s long time manager Jorge Hinojosa, ‘Iceberg Slim: Portrait of a Pimp’, examines the tumultuous life of legendary Chicago pimp Iceberg Slim (1918-1992) and how he reinvented himself from pimp to author of 7 groundbreaking books.
These books were the birth of Street Lit and explored the world of the ghetto in gritty and poetic detail and have made him a cultural icon. The film includes interviews with Iceberg Slim himself as well as Chris Rock, Henry Rollins, Ice-T, Snoop Dogg, and Quincy Jones.
The film will be released on Video On Demand on July 12th and hits theatres in limited release on July 19th.
