Salute to Mandela.
New York rapper Rakim penned his own dedication to the former South African President Nelson Mandela on wax in honor of his passing a couple weeks back. The veteran rapper laid out a few bars in remembrance of the late, great Mandela. “Madiba” cleverly samples a couple lines from a past speech made by the human rights activist as Rakim dedicated his rhymes to him.
The musical eulogy will appear on the soundtrack of the biopic based on the life and trials of Mandela starring Idris Elba. The movie, Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, is set to be released December 25. It’s a long road to freedom, let’s take a long walk. Rest in peace, Nelson Mandela.
