NBA: Los Angeles Clippers at Sacramento KingsIt’s no secret that DeMarcus Cousins isn’t fond of the Los Angeles Clippers.  Earlier in the season he pulled teammate Isaiah Thomas away from shaking Chris Paul’s hand then in another game against them he left JJ Redick hanging.  Chris Paul’s response was “he (DeMarcus Cousins)is a young man. He don’t know better. He needs some guidance.”

Now Cousins has taken it a step further, calling Paul out and criticizing his style of play.

Cousins maintains a rivalry with the Clippers, and Paul in particular.  “It’s just, some players I don’t respect,” Cousins told Grantland. “Just their playing style of basketball. I don’t respect it. I feel like it’s basically cheating and I don’t respect a cheater. If that’s your tactic to winning, I don’t respect you.”

Although Cousins is turbulent, it adds to his character, his toughness, all the things that make him the great player he is.  He’s having his best year averaging 22.6 ppg, 11.6 rpg and 1.2 blocks.  He’s certainly garnered All-Star consideration but his attitude tends to turn some people off.  Hopefully he’s able to find a balance under the right guidance.
