Directed by Nick Cassavetes, “The Other Woman,” stars Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Kate Upton, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Nicki Minaj. The film hits theaters this Friday, April 25.
Cameron Diaz plays an affluent New York City lawyer in the romantic comedy The Other Woman alongside Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton, where she learns that her boyfriend of only a few months is in fact a married man, making her the other woman – or one of. The hilarity of the film begins after Carly (Cameron’s character) pays a surprise visit to loverboy’s Connecticut home to do some “plumbing work” he claimed to have needed as an excuse to break a special date they had planned; after a ring of the doorbell, Carly’s world was rocked by a puzzled housewife Kate, “This is 40s” Leslie Mann. Not to mention, a later discovery of a third much younger love-interest of his, a combination of heartbreak and alcohol lead the women to bond and join forces unleashing a slew of major payback on the adulterer.
What a funny way to start a friendship. Carly, Kate and Amber (Kate Upton) connect in more ways than one in this hysterical story about getting even with a lying, cheating, SOB of a man. Carly, the choosy self-reliant attorney finally settles on the idea of being with one man after her opinionated assistant Lydia (Nikki Minaj) suspects her sincerity for Mark, the man she had been seeing for some time. Just when she opens up to making him a fixed part of her life, an instinct clicks and out emerges his wife and a batch of other lies.
In an effort to humiliate and bring the scumbag down to his knees, the women enter stalker mode to no end in order to uncover all his dirty secrets. At the end of it all, a conscientious Carly finally lands her Mr. Right, Kate’s divorce rewards her back her dignity and newfound glory, and Amber a sugar-daddy to lay on the beach with. Opening Friday, April 25, the movie definitely won’t disappoint as this form of revenge is sweeter than anything.
