It’s been 5 short but sweet years since Alex Fruchter created Closed Sessions and some people still don’t know what they do. So to help remedy that problem, they created a short video that shows you the artists they’ve worked with (Raekwon, Vic Mensa, Curren$y, Freddie Gibbs, Chance The Rapper, Alex Wiley, etc.), the projects they’ve put out, and what their mission is. Fruchter makes the bold claims that Chicago is the best Hip-Hop city in the world and that no one is putting on for that city in a stronger way than them. It’s almost impossible to refute those statements after you consider their prestigious history so far. The video also includes some high praise from Dante Ross (WMG, Tommy Boy, Elektra) that compares Closed Sessions to Tommy Boy and Rawkus.

As they continue to dig deeper into and become more comfortable with their niche, we can only imagine the new talent that Closed Sessions will foster. Their continual support of creativity in young artists is encouraging. They’re not making music for today or tomorrow. They’re doing it for the culture. Here’s to 5 more years, guys.
