The Game Before The Game spotlights the pre-game rituals of football (soccer) players, celebrities and fans as they prepare to be victorious in the game to come.
On June 4, Beats held a private screening event at the Bryant Park Hotel Theatre. The short film, The Game Before the Game, was introduced by Luke Wood, President, and Omar Johnson, EVP of Marketing. The two spoke to promote the new headphones from the company, Beats Solo 2, and how music tells a story. The five minute short film, directed by Nabil Elderkin, focused on the sports culture and everyone involved in the process, such as the athletes and fans, and they prepared for a big game with powerful, motivational songs playing in the background. It also featured a number of athletes and celebrities like Nicki Minaj, Serena Williams, Neymar Da Silva Jr. & Sr., and many more.
Following the screening, Omar Johnson sat down for a Q&A with Taylor Twellman from ESPN and Thierry Henry from the New York Red Bulls. They spoke about the influence of what music meant to them, and how heavily it impacted their performance on the field. Essentially, the Q&A session focused on the culture of music in creating a universal connection with a convergence of cultures. The event concluded with a small meet and greet with Taylor and Thierry and everyone went home with a demo pair of the new Beats Solo 2 headphones. The Game Before the Game is now out on Youtube.
