Duke’s Jabari Parker is the latest basketball phenom to come out of the city of Chicago from Simeon Career Academy. Derrick Rose once prepped at the Chicago South Side school. The All-ACC first teamer in his freshman season at Duke, Parker dropped 19 points and a roughly 9 rebounds for Coach Mike Krzyzewski ‘s Blue Devils. Speaking of Coach K, Parker credits Coach K for giving him the best piece of advice during the whole draft process: “Be a business man,” Parker told The Source. “Always represent yourself with good character. Nothing has really changed, just instill morals in yourself.”

Andrew Wiggins is the favorite to go first to the Cleveland Cavaliers in this evening’s draft. A consensus second team All-American at Kansas, the native Toronto, Canada native is proud to join the list of Canadian’s like the Cavaliers’ Anthony Bennett, Tristan Thompson and Steve Nash to represent Canada. He’s cognizant of what that all means too. “I think it’s great,” Wiggins told The Source.

“It’s great for Canada for my family and the people who support us and all the hard years we worked.”

The 2014 NBA Draft goes underway at 7:30 PM ET at The Barclays Center in Brooklyn on ESPN.
