Tough day at the office for Wale

Even as a celebrity, elite rapper, and Grammy Award-nominated artist, there come some tough days at work. Today was one of them, as Wale came under fire from a member of his own MMG camp: Meek Mill. Meek took to Twitter to viciously call out the DMV native on several things, in lieu of Wale not promoting Meek’s latest announcement–the release date of his sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money–on Twitter. To add insult to injury, Meek added the hashtag “#UNOTMMG”–something Rick Ross, the head of the label, has yet to comment on.

Wale, who was initially mum on the subject, has since taken to his Instagram to release a somewhat lengthy statement on the sudden turn of events, which you can read here. Also, in a moment of odd but perfect timing, Wale has released his latest song, “The Following”, via his Every Blue Moon website. Coincidentally, “The Following” is all about Wale’s problems with the industry and how he plans to lead a career that will only improve on the public’s view of both him, and Hip-Hop as a culture. No clue on whether or not this will live on Wale’s upcoming album, The Album About Nothing, but halfway through, the song is interrupted by a Seinfeld sample.
