Henry Kissinger, 91, former U.S. Secretary of State is resting after having gone through heart surgery to replace an aortic valve at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York on Tuesday and according to a statement from the hospital “he is resting well.”

This is the third heart surgery for Kissinger, he previously had  triple coronary bypass surgery and an angioplasty procedure in 2005.

Kissinger served as secretary of state and a national security advisor during the Nixon administration. He also continued his position as secretary of state through the quick Ford presidency and carried the advisor position for part of the administration.
