Happy 19th anniversary to Faith

Today marks the 19th anniversary of Faith Evans‘ debut album, Faith. This was the official debut of the Newark, NJ native, as she started out as a background singer for other artists like Usher, Mary J. Blige, and many more, and she was a former protege of singer Al B. Sure. She became the first singer to sign with Bad Boy Records, that was run by Puff Daddy (who today called himself Diddy).

The first two singles to be released from the album were “You Used To Love Me” and “Soon As I Get Home”, and (of course), the album was executive produced by Puffy. The album only feature appearance was Blige on the remake of the Rolls Royce‘s hit single, “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore”. It was also around this time that Faith started dating her rapper love interest, The Notorious B.I.G.

These days, the former first lady is working on her sixth album, Incomparable, and executive producing the hit series R&B Divas and R&B Divas LA.
